Celtics vs Bulls, best series ever
I don’t want to hear that this can’t be the best series ever because it is Round 1. If we are talking about “best series”, any series is automatically in contention. I also don’t want to hear the Garnett factor, “Oh well, Boston’s best player isn’t on the court.” Maybe so, but you play with the cards you are dealt. With that said let’s break this series down.
Guards Rajon Rondo & Derrick Rose battle
The Chicago Bulls/Boston Celtics series is the best NBA playoff series and I will tell you why. Look at these records that this series has broken in terms of the NBA playoffs. The 7 overtimes in this series sets a record for most OTs in a playoff series. (This is just one more OT than UCONN & Syracuse had in one night.) This series has experience 106 lead changes and it shows. In game one Derrick Rose tied the record for most points scored in an NBA playoff debut. With each star player making clutch play after clutch play, how can this not be the best series ever?

Ray Allen, The magician
I went into watching game 6 last night at Chicago thinking that either this game will live up to the previous games of this series which 3 have gone into overtime or may be another route by the Celtics like the game 3 in Chicago. After seeing the fight that both teams have put forth, I thought for sure this would be another overtime thriller.
It was mind blowing to see veteran, Ray Allen, hit amazing shot after amazing shot. Allen ended up with 51 points in 59 minutes but that wasn’t enough to stop the young Bulls team. John Salmons for Chicago dropped 35 points but none of his points were as emphatic as the former Florida Gator, Joahkim Noah’s steal and awkward-waiting for the ball to come loose- sprint against Paul Pierce to the other end of a dunk plus the foul (see below for video).
It was not just Allen for the Celtics that was hitting big shots at big times. Glen “Big Baby” Davis had 2 key buckets in the 2nd overtime to keep the Celtics right there with the Bulls.
In a flashback to last year’s Round 1 for the Celtics against the Atlanta Hawks, this year’s round 1 series will see a game 7 as well in Boston. The Bulls pulled away with an upset in the opening game in Boston to take the series lead 1-0. Starting back over at a tied series, can the Bulls pull out the upset?
You’re absolutely right! W/ each game, both teams seem to be piling on their best performances! Truly a quality time to watch the NBA! Good post!
